About Jo, in her own words
I live and work in Sydney, NSW. I share my life with my wonderful husband, two gorgeous daughters and two cats. I specialise in newborn photography, but love all things family related - maternity, birth, breastfeeding, babies, kids & families.
My love of photography started in high school, and I planned to be a photographer “when I grew up” but a few other things happened along the way! As so often seems to be the case with children’s photographers it was the birth of my own children that brought me back to photography. It wasn’t until I bought my first digital SLR, while pregnant for the second time, that I really got serious again. And then I felt rather like I had to re-learn everthing from scratch, it had been so long. However, as soon as I started really thinking about each photo and not just clicking randomly away, I realised what a passion I still have for photography.
Taking photos for other families gives me the chance to share the “Oh, oh! OH!!” moment of seeing one’s child perfectly captured in time. And also to help other’s capture the some of the moments I missed with my own children because I didn’t know there were photographers out there taking the sort of photos I wanted of my family. The sort of photos I would take myself.
